I didn’t expect to love this reading experience as much as I did, but here I am. I loved how simple, in a lack of a better word, yet complex the two main characters were. Saul and Levi are easy to empathize with, both thinking they’re unwantables (in their own way) and yet they realize they’re lovable.I also appreciate how easy the author incorporated jewish facts and explanations for us who don’t know anything about the religion and the practices. Even though I’ve grown up in a secular country with remnants of christianity all around (Sweden), I’m still surprised at how it’s (christianity) hogging all the spotlight when there should be room to share.As a queer individual myself, I was so happy to see one of my favorite authors publish yet another great lgbtq-book that I could emerge myself into so I could breathe a breath of fresh air and freedom. To be able to be myself and while reading finding acceptance in a book. Thank you for this book, and all the others as well! I look forward to reading many more! This is the first book I've read with a trans man and I really liked how Saul's feelings about his transition were such an integral part of the story. I liked that his uncertainty about his body was forefront during his more intimate moments with Levi. I also liked that Levi was a bit older and that he was completely unapologetic about wanting a Daddy. It was refreshing to see him go after what he wanted.
