Loved this book!A strange thing happened at the gym. Now Toni has become an empath. Feeling your own feelings can be overwhelming but feeling EVERYONE'S feelings can be way too much, especially for Toni. She spends her days as a mechanic. Not a typical "feel good" profession. Her nights are spent with her cat, her family, or....Henry. Life was rolling along until the finger on the tractor. After that, her whole world turned upside down. What about the finger on the tractor, you may ask! Nope, not going to tell you!I have read all of Ms. Hunter's books. I love some, some I like. I can tell you this one is a home run. In some parts I chuckled right out loud. Not a small feat in a suspenseful novel.Get a glass of wine, settle into your comfy reading spot, and enjoy this book.I did get an advance copy of this book. I have given an honest review. I also bought the book as I do with all of Ms. Hunter's releases. I absolutely adored Fate Actually, the second book in Elizabeth Hunter’s Moonstone Cove series. Toni is a fabulous and frequently hysterically funny heroine, whose usual, tried-and-true, blunt approach to life (which lately seems to cover everything from dealing with her large extended family, to solving a murder) has been complicated by her recently acquired empathetic powers.Honestly, I have been looking forward to this book from the series’ start, and was delighted to have the chance to read and review an advance copy. Toni is so fabulously non-nonsense, and a little prickly, and her bickering/bantering with Megan and Katherine is endlessly hilarious. I cannot do her character justice - especially without spoilers - but everything about her and her particular situation in this book brings me joy.The murder mystery in this is especially fun, and the story does not hold back with some truly, delightfully unexpected plot twists. (Absolutely did not see some of that coming.) If you’re looking for an excellent mystery to help take your mind off any of the seasonal (or yearly) stress, I highly recommend picking up Fate Actually and taking a quick trip to Moonstone Cove! You will not regret it.(Seriously. I laughed SO MUCH reading this book. So fabulous.)
